Archipettoli, a 14 hectare estate, owned and operated by the Volterrani family since its acquisition in 1992, is situated in San Casciano in Val di Pesa (Chianti Colli Fiorentini). It is dedicated to high quality wine and olive oil production as well as farm holidays. The Supertuscan wine is produced from grapes grown on the 1.7 hectare Archipettoli vineyard, which lies at an altitude of 320m above sea level, with a south-western exposure on calcareous soil; an ideal microclimate for Sangiovese grapes. The old vineyard was planted 40 years ago with Sangiovese and a few Canaiolo vines, complemented by a new vineyard with various clones of Sangiovese, selected by the world-renowned oenologist and agronomist Andrea Paoletti.
